We began offering scholarships to students in Zambia who were hoping to continue with their studies from primary school to secondary school.
As our students grew, so did our programs!
We have most recently been working with some of our Grade 12 graduates to facilitate their educations at a university level.

Creating educational opportunity has always been at the core of Modzi's mission, and we don't believe that should stop with Grade 12. Students who receive Modzi scholarship know that if they work hard, their studies will be supported through the completion of their secondary schooling. Modzi students are then able to focus on their studies rather than worry about the money required to pay school fees each year.
As  more and more of our students successfuly graduated from Grade 12, a frequent question emerged
- what's next?

For some of our students, university has always been their goal. They continuously remind us that it can be a key to something greater in life. They view it as an opportunity to create better circumstances for themselves and for some, a way to study outside of Zambia.

Navigating the application process alone can make attending university seem impossible.
While schools in the west often provide advisors and counselors to aid this tedious process,
the situation in Zambia remains quite different. Modzi has been addressing this gap by working closely with our graduate students to better understand their needs. We continue to provide computer literacy trainings as well as writing workshops. We teach the importance of research and resume building. In so many ways, Modzi remains involved in our graduate students' pursuit of higher education.
