Mwiya is a modzi student who continues to follow his passion for music. At 14 years old he wrote and recorded this song "Umoyo", meaning "life". In his song, Mwiya advocates for the many homeless children living on the streets in Zambia. Once faced with such adversity, Mwiya has since had the opportunity to return to school via modzi.

Mwiya is just one of millions of children who has struggled with a lack of access to quality education. Rather than lose hope, he continues to use his voice for good. "I want to reach people through my music. Children are the future.. we have to be heard."
