modzi began with one child, whose dream was to go to school.
Every child's story is different, each definition of success unique. The story of modzi began with one, and the idea that with one come many. This infectious philosophy holds that if even just one person is empowered to follow their passion and reach their fullest potential, they may then go on to act as a catalyst for further change. This ripple effect creates a network of individuals who continue to grow and learn from each other. As we watched one opportunity lead to change in an entire community, one student quickly became many.
We believe that education truly is the foundation for a brighter world.
modzi’s unique and individualized approach developed as we recognized the need to not only provide children with the necessary financial means to attend school, but also the guidance that ensured students’ success. We saw that it isn’t enough to just financially support our students, but we must also create opportunity for them to explore their passions alongside dedicated mentors.
Children everywhere deserve the opportunity to learn.
A majority of children in Zambia are faced with hurdles that often inhibit their preparedness for the future. Systems in place struggle to advocate for these children, and they are often left behind, forgotten or discouraged from not only pursuing an education but also pursuing their passions. Each child in modzi understands the importance of education because they see what life without one looks like - everyday. In giving a child an opportunity to attend school, modzi is simultaneously enabling them to create change in their lives.
Change starts with one.
modzi believes that one person has the power to impact countless others. We believe in the strength of togetherness, and that change is possible.
As we continue to grow and welcome more children into our programs, we continue to see the same beautiful potential that initially inspired us. The future of modzi is limitless. The need for better access to education across the globe is great and until this need is met, we will continue to spread our modzi movement. For us and the children we mentor, modzi is not simply an organization, but also a family. And by empowering our world’s children we can empower tomorrow’s global citizens, one by one.
